The letter part 2

These are the offending receiver pieces or at least what is left of them. By the time I get the front sights and barrel bushing cut off with the lathe there will just be a small piece left, which I will send in along with the other pieces for the sake of honesty. I got a dummy receiver from Centerfire Systems, but I will send it back, as it is a complete piece of crap, dimensionally inaccurate, wrong diameter. I may have to machine my own dummy receiver on a lathe, but what will probably happen as I don't have a lathe that will do the job, is the parts kit will go back in the box and get put on a shelf. I never intended to do anything illegal when I bought the kit, just wanted a wall hanger display piece. I bitterly resent that ATF should be so incomptent as to allow this to happen. Do they not have any criminals to go after, or is it that criminals shoot back and innocent people are easier to terrorize?

The letter part 1

I got a certified letter from Centerfire Systems. It seems a parts kit I bought from them years ago and just put away has been classified as a machine gun. More specifically, it was not properly demilitarized when it came in country in 2001, so BATFE or whatever the stupid boobs are calling themselves nowadays have decided that the 3 receiver portions are a live machine gun. They want me to mail the three pieces in so they can properly demilitarize and dispose of them and I have 3 weeks to do it. One week is gone.

First of all, if it's a machine gun, what the hell is the idea of sending it through the mail? This is an admission on someone's part that the thing isn't really dangerous if it can be shipped through the mail. It is just pieces of a tube that were bandsaw cut instead of torch cut. I believe the whole thing is a ploy to harass people who buy parts kits. I have to pay the postage to send this stuff in out of my pocket because some idiots let the stuff get onto consumer shelves, where they were purchased legally and over the counter.

The thing is, the magazine well, the rear sights, the front sights, and the stock mount are all spot welded. You need these pieces to make a non firing dummy, or a semi automatic. What alot of people do is make semi's out of them by modifying the bolt and changing the fire control group. I am in the process of stripping off the parts I intend to keep. I will post pictures and such to show in court in case these idiotic boobs decide to crash in my door and point a gun in my face and tear the place up so they can get this scrap metal that couldn't possibly be made into anything workable. Pictures to follow. I have decided to go with a non firing dummy gun, a wall hanger if you will.

By the way, the parts kit in question.........7.62 x 25 CZ26. I'd post a picture of one, but I don't have one and if I went to someone's website and copied theirs, well it may be copyrighted. I'm going to document my build and the destruction of the parts being sent in on thse pages in case I have to prove something in court.
