Well, boys and girls, it's been a couple of months, I've been from California to New Jersey, all along the east coast, the Midwest as a student truck driver making $300.00 a week. Creditors are leaving messages on my machine but I'm not home to deal with it. My batteries are dead in my camera so I got no pix to post. I'm sitting in my hotel room in Jacksonville, FL. Tomorrow I go to the HQ for Allen Freight Services for indoctrination and paperwork, then if I can pass the road test I get my own truck. Backing up may be my downfall, but I have the numbers for USA trucking and Swift just in case. So I sit here and stress over the future like all Americans. I shouldn't have to. I'm a good man, worked when I could all my life had 2 jobs for the last 12 years and slowly gone under like a submarine in a slow dive. Slowly a leak forms and as you go deeper, pressure forces water in faster than the pumps can bail it out. I see it happening to so many. It's not bad people, it's bad leadership.
Damn the Republicans and that idiot George Bush. Every time a Republican gets in office the country goes broke. Look at the recession of 1972, the recession of '74, the eighties, and now and lets not forget the great depression. Now tell me I'm wrong. We had a surplus during the Clinton years for the first time since Eisenhower and what did the politicians do? They figured out ways to spend the surplus instead of even making the slightest attempt to pay on the principal and bring the country into a sound economic position. Now we are building more prisons and bringing on the prison industrial complex to compete with countries like China and their prison/slave labor. Time was when something made in USA meant it was good quality. Still does, but finding that label is getting hard to do.
So the kids all dance and shake them bones
And the politicians throwing stones
And it's all too clear we're on our own
Singing ashes to ashes all fall down
